Fuggerei – the oldest social housing complex in the world
Founded in 1521 by Jakob Fugger, the annual rent has remained at just €0.88 for over 500 years. A museum tells its fascinating story.
Town Hall and Golden Hall
The Renaissance town hall (1620) is the most significant Renaissance building north of the Alps. The Golden Hall features a stunning coffered ceiling 14 metres high.
Augsburg Cathedral
Home to the oldest figurative stained glass windows in the world (12th century). Admission is free.
Augsburg Puppet Theatre (Augsburger Puppenkiste)
A world-famous marionette theatre since 1948. Book your tickets in advance!
