Privacy Policy
This notice explains which personal data we process when you visit our website, send us an enquiry or stay with us – and which rights you have. The German version is legally binding.

Managing director: Daniel Gnann

2. In brief
- Our website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising services.
- Fonts, images and videos are served from our own server – no data is sent to Google or other third parties when you visit.
- We use enquiry data only to answer your enquiry and, if you book, to handle your stay.
3. Hosting and server log files
Our website runs on a server we rent from Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany, located in a data centre in Nuremberg (Germany).
With every request the server automatically logs technical data: IP address, date and time, requested address, amount of data, status code, referring page, browser and operating system. We need this data to deliver the website securely, find errors and fend off attacks. We do not use it to identify you and do not combine it with other data. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in secure operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Log files are deleted after 14 days at the latest unless a specific security incident requires longer retention.
4. Enquiries via the form, email or phone
If you contact us, we process the details you provide: name, phone number and/or email address, dates, number of guests, preferred accommodation and your message (for example company name and billing address). Only name, dates, number of guests and one way to reach you are required. The form is transmitted encrypted (HTTPS) to our server and forwarded to our mailbox as an email; if you provide an email address, you receive a confirmation. To prevent the same form being sent several times in a row, the server stores a shortened, non-reversible check value derived from your IP address for 30 seconds; it is deleted after one hour at the latest.
Legal basis: pre-contractual measures and performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR); for general questions our legitimate interest in answering them (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are deleted once they are dealt with, unless statutory retention periods apply.
5. Booking, stay and key handover
If you book, we process the data needed for the contract, your stay and invoicing (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). You collect your keys at Hotel Goldener Falke, Neuhäuserstraße 10, 86154 Augsburg, operated by Gnann GmbH; for this purpose we share your name, dates and booked accommodation with the hotel. Where required by law, we collect the details for the registration form under the German Federal Registration Act (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR). Booking and invoicing records are kept for as long as commercial and tax law requires (usually six or ten years).
6. Recipients
Your data is only shared with those who need it for the purposes above: our staff, Hotel Goldener Falke for the key handover, our hosting provider as technical operator of the server and – where legally required – authorities and our tax advisers. Data is not transferred to countries outside the European Union.
7. Cookies, analytics and embedded content
Our website sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. We use no analytics, tracking or advertising services, no social media plugins and no embedded maps or videos from third parties. Links to other websites (e.g. Google Maps or the Messe Augsburg calendar) only take effect when you click them; the provider's privacy notice then applies.
To check that our enquiry form works well, our own server only counts how often it is opened, started and sent – as plain daily totals, without IP address, without cookies and without linking to any person.
8. Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). Where we process data based on our legitimate interest, you may object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR). You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; ours is the Bavarian Data Protection Authority (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany, www.lda.bayern.de.
9. Security and changes
All connections to our website are encrypted with TLS. We update this notice when our website or the law changes; the version published here applies.
